Last week, we had a little Sunshine Party with the mamas in my church. Since moving to Toronto, it has been so incredible to have such a group of strong, kind, like-minded mamas in my life and little friends for Gabriel and Magdalene now and as they grow older. And they all seem to really quite like each other and get along very well.
Since it's been so hot, we set up a kiddie pool in the backyard, much to Gabriel's delight. He jumped in whole-heartedly. The water was ice cold and he gave a little yelp, but continued to stay in. From there he found just about everything he could get his hands on to dump into the pool. He was in and out all morning--slipping and sliding and jumping off the bouncy edges and landing bottom first in the water, sputtering and wiping water out of his face, a smile from ear to ear. That must be nearly the best purchase this summer!
The kids were amazing and all entertained themselves--digging in the dirt, going down the slide, putting things in the pool, eating snacks, drawing with sidewalk chalk, playing BBQ and hockey. Gabriel found a hockey buddy that might even like hockey more than him. Luca kept saying, "Gabriel, come play hockey!" Meanwhile, us mamas got to sit in the shade and have some conversation.
A little spread for the mamas and babies.
Thank you mamas, for welcoming us into your lives so openly! You have made moving to Toronto all the more easier.
