Just had a lovely birthday weekend with my husband and inlaws. Jordan and his stepdad share the same birthday, so it's an outstanding tradition to get together, no matter how far or how close we live, to celebrate whenever we can. So we had a nice, quiet (cough*) weekend with them around our house, blowing bubbles, going on walks, going to the park and celebrating the big day a little bit early. We were so glad to have such dazzling nice weather.
We carried on another longstanding tradition of bathtime serenades by Fizey. Now that Magdalene is a little bit older, she was still up to join in the bathtime shenanigans and was equally mesmerized by Fizey's guitar and wanted to play it too. She is just getting so curious about everything! Especially food. You can literally see her drooling over it and grabbing at everything to put it in her mouth. It's going to be hard waiting for another month. I hope she'll love fine food as much as her brother does!
The birthday celebrations were pretty fun this year. Normally we've been away for it and not at home, so this year we thought we'd make it a bigger deal. Apparently Chouchou and Fizey thought it was outrageous that Jordan bought a tent a few weeks ago so we can go camping and so he ended up with a whole pile of camping gear so we can take the kids. The funny thing is that I LOVED camping as a kid and have many fond memories. But Jordan always laughed and said that he'd never do it. And then we had kids. And now all of sudden there is this nostalgia for it. Ha! So we are pretty excited to hit the road soon for a little camping trip and try out all of his gear.
Happy Birthday Boys! So glad you have your birthdays the same day so we have more excuses to get together!
