A day full of sunshine, walks and a whole lotta love.

Now that the house is quiet today and all the family is gone again, I have had some time to look through our photos from Sunday--a warm bright day filled to the brim with sunshine, as much walking as we could squeeze in, and a whole lot of time together.

We drove to Great Falls Park, to see where the Potomac River flows with great power over jagged rocks which form a waterfall.  The walk along the Potomac was very scenic as we stopped several times to admire its power and beauty while large turkey vultures circled above us.

We stopped and sniffed the flowers and corralled Gabriel away from muddy swamps.  We had a lovely Sunday brunch together at the Liberty Tavern, a recommendation from our dear Arlington friend, Ina, before picking up the pooch and continuing to the Dyke Marsh for another jaunt in the sun.  We couldn't have spent another minute in the sunshine yesterday.

It was a beautiful day and so well spent.  Thank you to all my sweet family and friends for your messages, emails, posts, texts, telephone calls and skype dates.   A girl couldn't feel more special.
