Watching the sailboats in Annapolis.

Just a few more pictures from this past weekend.  On Sunday, we revisited Annapolis the capital of Maryland--we liked driving through so much the first time.  I have a feeling that it's a place we will go back to again and again.

We loved Annapolis--boutiques, apparently fine restaurants, historic brick buildings and streets and what looked like quite lovely grounds at the Annapolis Naval Academy, although we didn't stop to tour around.  Apparently there is a boat tour that takes visitors around and gives a brief history of the naval base, one of the largest US naval bases and the setting for the film Annapolis.

Definitely true to its naval history, the harbour was filled with sailboats that we could have watched for hours.  In fact, we likely spent the majority of our time there watching them.  Even though the weather wasn't spectacular, the locals in their sailboats didn't waste a weekend and an opportunity to get out there on the bay.  They were flying past in their boats at a dubious speed in the harbour.

Gabriel is really loving getting out of the stroller so he can walk from place to place--which we did briefly in Annapolis.  It always takes a lot longer and he wants to tear down the sidewalk and go wherever he wants (mostly toward parked cars so he can hug the tires), but is starting to figure out that sometimes he needs to hold our hand, and sometimes he can run like crazy everywhere.  He's getting it and it's so neat to watch the wheels turn in his head.

Oh yeah, we stopped into one little shop and saw the biggest, most beautiful sailboats, pictured above.  Had a little bit of sailboat envy, admittedly.   Settled instead for a beautiful boat mobile for Gabriel and a knot key chain. But we'll be back!
