Third Date of Christmas: Christmas Tree!!!!

The other day, we got around to decorating the Christmas tree.  The littles are really into it now and loved putting ornaments on the tree.  It is always fun going through the boxes of unusual and artistic ornaments.  Every year we get an ornament from somewhere we have been--like Newfoundland, DC, or Vancouver or we get them from Canadian artists so they are always one of kind and special and helps us remember the places we've been to and the stages in our lives.  It is one of my favorite traditions.

This year, Gabriel is particular fascinated with the star on the top of the tree.  We've been reading "Little Star" by Anthony DeStefano which is the Christmas story told from the point of view of a little star who burns himself out shining for the baby Jesus but is forever memorialized by forever being at the top of the Christmas tree. Such a magical and powerful story.  If you haven't read, you must!

It's now our morning ritual to run in the sunroom first thing, plug in the tree and the stars and eat breakfast.

Happy Decorating and tree gazing!  And Happy December!  Finally!!!
