Christmas Market: A Family Date!

Yesterday we were so happy to be able to squeeze in a family date out doing Christmasy things!  We went to the Distillery, one of our favorite Christmas locations and just walked around listening to carollers and Christmas music, gazed up at the strings of Christmas lights and the big tree in the square.  We poked our noses in some of the stalls to see what people were selling and grabbed some hot chocolates to warm us up.

This year, unlike what I remember from previous years, they seemed to have more for kids which was nice, structures for climbing, toys for playing with, life-size gingerbread houses (not real gingerbread), Santa, a Ferris wheel and carousel.  (We went on the carousel last year too), you can see pictures from our visit there last year here.  The carousel was, of course, Gabriel's favorite and it was only through promises to come back and gaze longingly at the horses later that we were able to get around to see anything else.

You may notice that you haven't seen many pictures of Maggie here except a tiny one at the end.  Maggie spent most of the time in the stroller where she eventually went to sleep while Jordan and I took turns strengthening our arms in an organic form of resistance and weight-training carrying this guy around. ;)

It was festive and beautiful down in the Distillery District with some of our favorite shops like Mini Mioche (an organic, eco-friendly-made-in-Canada shop for children's wear, toys and books) and Distill Gallery (Canadian Art Craft & Design).  Both places we highly recommend for places in the case you haven't yet finished your gift-shopping for the special people in your lives.  By the way, next weekend is the last weekend they are open.  And when we were there yesterday it was so busy that the Distillery was at maximum capacity and they had a queue waiting outside.  So get there early or go during the week if you can!

Hope your Weekend was wonderful!
