Congrats Husband and a Little Celebration

This year my husband completed his Masters degree!  I know it's all kind of a blur the past few years--the birth of our two children, moving a number of times, changing jobs, traveling for work.  And yet this man has balanced it all with some much grace.  He squeezed the last few hours of each day after work for the past few years, spent almost an entire month straight working day and night in the basement of our house typing away in all attempts to complete his thesis.  I am pretty sure there were a few times when we both wondered if it would ever happen, that is, whether his thesis would get written and submitted on time.  But it did and not only that, but exceptionally well done.  I am so very, very proud of this man I call my husband.

So we had a celebration for him shortly after Christmas.  We had just a few family members over to the house to celebrate with us--ChouChou, Fizey, some siblings, cousins, an aunt and uncle.  We toasted the man of honor and had some bubbly and nibblies.

Congratulations Husband!  We are all so awed by your ability to balance it all and proud of your great accomplishment.

Christmas in Our Home.

Christmas started E A R L Y in our house Christmas day.  Like, 4:00am early.  Admittedly, we may have allowed Gabriel to watch too many Christmas movies which built up his expectations and excitement to the point he could hardly sleep the night before and had hives both in the days leading up until Christmas and after.  Rookie mistake.  Christmas Eve, he took HOURS getting to sleep.  He kept popping out of the teepee in our room.  "Just one more present" he said sheepishly.  Our little boy is nothing if not intense.

But he sure was appreciative!  Christmas morning, he was excited over every little detail, handing out cinnamon buns to family, opening small presents and exclaiming excitedly over socks, and mittens and Christmas cards.  He really is our great source of entertainment.  Maggie, although a little unaware of what was going on, seemed to enjoy Christmas too, particularly some of the simple things like candy canes.  But also the dolls and doll accessories.  I never was a girly girl, but Maggie sure loves these things!

A first nativity set for the littles.

My beautiful sister, the amazing Auntie Angela and her "mini-me."

Our annual Christmas ornament tradition, bought in Newfoundland on our trip to ChouChou and Fizey's wedding.

 Emma and Marc, looking gorgeous!

We had some dinosaurs join us for dinner.

First taste of Christmas Dinner.  She LOVED it and ate and ate and ate.

Chocolate Pecan Pie!!!  There really is NOTHING better than this.  Fizey agrees.

Christmas really is so much more fun and entertaining with the littles in our lives.  It definitely is more active and chaotic and full of early mornings.  But, there is always paper flying and cries of delight and new traditions being made each year.

Merry Christmas from one crazy, chaotic, sleep-deprived house running purely on adrenaline to yours!! Hope it was a good one!
