The whole purpose in flying to the Yukon was to witness the wedding of these two wonderful people--Jeni and Sean. The groom, Sean and my husband Jordan have been close friends since childhood. We all know there is nothing quite like the friendship of a childhood friend with whom you never lose touch!!
Jeni and Sean's wedding day was filled to the brim with rain, despite being book-ended on either side of the day with weeks of endless sunshine. We woke Friday morning to torrential downpour that only picked up as the day went on. The wedding was pushed ahead in hopes that it might eventually clear, especially since the wedding was to take place in the open at the top of the mountain!!
Mid-afternoon, there was some speculation that there might be an upcoming clearing in the rain, so the party and guests drove the 10 km up the mountain to the top of Keno Hill and tried to wait it out some more. However, more rain and wind and cold continued..... And eventually everyone braved the storm to witness the mountain top wedding. It was chilly but it was beautiful. And in a magical moment, just as the two kissed as newlyweds, the sky opened up for a split second displaying the beautiful green valley below. The guests gasped in delight and cheered! And with that, the rain ceased and the rest of the day was sunshine, allowing for a delightful evening reception at the local hotel.
Thank you Jeni and Sean for sharing your special day and for creating such a wonderful opportunity to experience the Yukon in all it's wild beauty.
Gabriel getting ready for the wedding, wearing his wedding duds, and dancing in his cowboy boots to Fizey's guitar. Couldn't get a picture of him stomping but it was too cute!!
And the sky opened up for us, for just a split second.

The drive on our way back down the mountain.... after the sky started clearing.
A little picture compliments of Lynne, Sean's mother!! Thank you!
We wish you all the blessings of a wonderful marriage filled with love, adventure and a house filled with laughter.
